What’s behind every piece
Wash a new garment once before first use, at 30°C on a short programme with a small amount of washing powder. After that, follow the care label on each piece and don’t overload the machine. Keep white and coloured clothing separate, and use a detergent made for colours. For chef jackets with a zipper, turn the chef jacket inside out and close the zipper before washing; this protects the zipper, and skipping it voids the zipper warranty. For white chefwear, avoid detergents and softeners with optical brighteners, bleach or chlorine, as these can damage the fibres and fade the white.
Use a low-temperature programme for grease stains and a high-temperature programme for fruit and vegetable stains. For heavily soiled white clothing, soak it overnight in Biotex, then run a prewash followed by a normal programme at 40°C or 60°C.
Tumble drying isn’t recommended, because heat and mechanical movement can shrink and damage the fabric. Air dry your chef jacket flat or on a line to keep its shape. In a hurry? Use a low heat setting for a short time, and always check the care label first. Not sure how to care for a specific piece? Our Customer Service is happy to help.
